Do not meddle in the affairs of wizards, for they are subtle and quick to anger. - J. R. R. Tolkien
Also do not snub Peter Jackson at the Oscars for two years in a row, for he shall smite you.
That's right people, 11 for 11, tied with Ben Hur and *gag* Titanic for the most Oscars won in a single year! The Lord of the Rings trilogy has finally gotten what it deserves. Every award it was nominated for, it won, and rightly so. I am so happy, Return of the King is the best movie I've ever seen, and I'm glad Peter Jackson and everyone else who worked on this movie had finally gotten the credit they deserve for their hard work.
Kudos to Jackson and the rest of the crew, the academy, and of course J. R. R. Tolkien himself.

"The pain passes. The beauty remains." - Auguste Renoir
I went to a funeral yesterday for Kevin Southwick, a 22 year old whose parents are good friends of ours. It made me sad and grateful at the same time. I was sad that such a great guy had died, but felt so blessed to still be alive, to still have an opportunity to be with my friends and family here on earth and enjoy life. It was actually a really uplifting experience, even though I had to miss a math quiz to go.
This morning I had to go in to make up said math quiz at 8:00 in the morning, what is that!? Grr....math should never be done before 11:00 AM at least. That was the first bad thing of the day, the other bad thing happened during 7th period, and those of you who vaguely know my schedule may know what's coming next. That's the period I have PE, and, thanks to my lack of cooridnation and inability to avoid objects flying at me, I was forced to endure such torture that no 15 year old should have to experience. To those of you who are yet confused, I need say only these two words, dodge ball.
Dodge ball is evil, variations on Dodge ball are pure evil. We played a version of the evil game in which one class is forced to run across the gym between two menacing rows of fellow students who are trying to hit them with a ball. If you get hit, you have to stay were you are and try to protect your fellow classmates from the balls zooming overhead like so many missiles in a war zone. I had just been hit after several successful passes across the gym, when, out of nowhere, I get smacked right in the face with a ball. This might not have bothered me so much if it wasn't such a prevalent trend in my sporting life. It never fails, I play any sport in which balls are being tossed though the air and one will eventually come into not so gentle contact with some part of my head. It's been like this for as long as I can remember and honestly, I'm sick of it and kind of aggravated by it as well. So naturally I was a bit upset when it happened, but after a minute or two I was back in the game because now it was my turn to throw stuff at people. I was ready to take out that guy who had hit me, the only problem was, my aim is piteously lacking in accuracy. So I didn't even get the satisfaction of nailing the guy with a ball. (Not that I use violence to solve my problems or anything....)
The next time it was my classes turn to run, I thought I was going to do ok, I got across the gym twice and had just started my third pass when, to add insult to injury, I was nailed in the face by yet another ball. By now I was just angry. Both time I got hit it didn't really hurt to badly, the pain went away after a minute or so, it just really made me mad. And the second time, just as with the first, my aim foiled all of my attempts to anyone else with one of the balls. After I while I plain gave up and stood and just watched, still rather upset. I spent the rest of the period ranting about the stupidity of a game in which multiple people are hit in the face with balls. I still fail to see how anyone could find this fun.
It continues to mystify me.

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. - Albert Einstein
Usually I tend to agree with Mr. Einstein on this point, but today I must disagree. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and actually getting different results. I really didn't do much differently today than I did any other day, and yet I had such a super good day! It's crazy, but so cool! I love good days....they're just so good!
I won't bore you all with the details, but suffice it to say, the insanity that is my life is slowly beginning to have a sense of order again. Perhaps I may have a real life again soon! That would be nice.....

"What does not destroy me, makes me stronger." - Friedrich Nietzsche
General despondency here, my cat just had a seizure. It's so sad, we've had Mittsy for as long as I can remember and now she's about 14 and may very well not live to see another year pass by. It just breaks my heart.
Other than that I had a really good day. Slept in, went shopping, attended an above-par church service, came home, ate pizza, wrote an essay, slacked off, wrote/found some submissions of my work for Soul Prints and now I'm going to bed.
"Good night, good night! Parting is such sweet sorrow,
That I shall say good night till it be morrow."
- William Shakespeare

"Love is a snowmobile racing across the tundra and then suddenly it flips over, pinning you underneath. At night, the ice weasels come." - Matt Groening
That's how I'm feeling today, I think......But also, "To love is to receive a glimpse of heaven." - Karen Sunde. That may not make sense to anyone (including myself), but it is what it is. Such is my life.
On a less confusing (and certainly more amusing) note, the article of the day.

This isn't good or bad. It's just the way of things. Nothing stays the same. - Real Live Preacher
Ok, love or hate, for better or for worse, here it is....
THE NEW COLOR SCHEME!
That's right people, as you may have noticed after this page loaded, I finally changed the colors on my Blog, all by myself. I must say I'm very proud of myself. I hope ya'll like it and if you don't......either give me suggestions or don't complain.
And now I present to you....my muse.....
Yup, you got it, I was inspired by a lovely cup of cappuccino. So frothy.....so foamy.....so sweet......

I often quote myself. It adds spice to my conversation. - George Bernard Shaw
As you might have noticed, I enjoy quotes, and today I'm going to post a couple I found today. I think when I redesign my site I'll have a special space allotted for quotes that I like...it'll be cool......
"I shall call him squishy, and he shall be mine, and he shall be my squishy." - Finding Nemo
"Rarely do great beauty and great virtue dwell together." - Petrarch
"There is no excellent beauty that hath not some strangeness in the proportion." - Sir Francis Bacon
"It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live." - J. K. Rowling
"It is our choices...that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities." - J. K. Rowling
"There's a fine line between genius and insanity. I have erased this line." - Oscar Levant
"Insanity is often the logic of an accurate mind overtaxed." - Oliver Wendell Holmes
"Love is, above all, the gift of oneself." - Jean Anouilh
"Love is an irresistable desire to be irresistably desired." - Robert Frost
"Love isn't a decision. It's a feeling. If we could decide who we loved, it would be much simplier, but much less magical." - Trey Parker and Matt Stone, South Park
"Love all, trust a few. Do wrong to none." - William Shakespeare
" 'Reality' is the only word in the English language that should always be used in quotes." - Unknown
"I hate women because they always know where things are." - James Thurber
"Whatever women do they must do twice as well as men to be thought half as good. Luckily this is not difficult." - Charlotte Whitton
"When the candles are out all women are fair." - Plutarch

Ok, after all of the talk on Brad's blog about changing the looks of our weblogs, I figured it might be time to give my site a makeover. Requests, suggestions and sarcasm are welcome. Comment away!

If toast always lands butter-side down, and cats always land on their feet, what happen if you strap toast on the back of a cat and drop it? - Steven Wright
Ok, all kidding and philosophical thoughts and principles aside, this still one cute kitty.

The world belongs to the energetic. - Ralph Waldo Emerson
I have had such a totally cool/weird/fun week! It's been confusing and crazy plenty of the time, but such is life, I'm still really happy!
We did swing dancing in PE yesterday and it was so much fun!I actually can't wait to go back to PE on Monday! This is so cool! Plus another bit of coolness is the fact that I have managed to maintain my lovely 4.0 GPA despite insane teachers and weird and crazy life stuff. All I have to say is thank you God!
Yeah, so this new semester is shaping up to be fun. I'm actually enjoying PE, I have people to hang out with in all of my classes, my social life is flourishing quite well and my statcounter thing tells me over 1,000 people have visited my site since I put in the little counter! (This may have been helped a bit by the fact that my site is my homepage, but still...) Life is great!
All I can say is this, "I myself do nothing. The Holy Spirit accomplishes all through me."- William Blake
On a side note, check this out.

To be loved, be lovable. - Ovid
He makes it sound so simple....
Anyway, that has nothing to do with anything going on right now, I just found it interesting.
What I really want to do is relay this quote by the CEO of MTV referring to the Janet Jackson "incident"
"We were really ripped off."

Dance is the hidden language of the soul. - Martha Graham
If that's true, then yesterday in PE everyone was saying in this language "I am the most dorky and retarded person on the planet" at the same time. That's right people, I started PE yesterday and am participating in the dance unit (by no choice of my own). We started off with a lovely Jamaican number which made everyone look intensely strange but it was also kinda fun. We followed that with "The Chicken Dance" and ended off the period with another go at the Jamaican piece. It was weird, slightly embarrassing, and fun all at the same time. The biggest downside was the fact that I woke up this morning intensely sore from my workout. I've decided to take that as a sign that not only am I a 105 pound bean pole, I'm also really out of shape. But that's ok, at least I'm still skinny, even thought I'm weak.
I'm really tired today and I have to go to choir practice tonight.....*groan*. Well, at least we're getting new music tonight for the Easter services in April, plus I get to hang with my choir buds.
Ah well, C'est la vie

Love is the difficult realization that something other than oneself is real. Iris Murdoch
yeah....so....
Not much is going on right now, but whatever. I'm attempting to create/write my own RPG and that should be fun once I get started. I don't have any homework, so it's been a fairly relaxed afternoon, this pleases me.
On a more "interesting" note check out this.
Sheesh, "costume malfunction".What is the world coming to?
